4 Victims Shot at Howe Park Sacramento — Unlawful Gathering Erupts in Gunfire





On the evening of Saturday April 18, an unauthorized gathering of an estimated several hundred individuals at Howe Park in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade neighborhood descended into chaos when 20 to 25 gunshots echoed through the area as Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies were actively clearing the area.

How It Unfolded

Around 6:30 in the evening, the SCSO received reports reporting people potentially carrying concealed firearms at Howe Community Park. A second report mentioned a potential fight and individuals running from the park.

Aerial units was called in and surveyed the area from above but failed to identify an active fight.

Even so, an estimated several hundred attendees had gathered at the park for what law enforcement classified as an unauthorized gathering. Officers encircled the park, activated emergency lights, and took about 15 minutes instructing attendees to vacate the area through their vehicle PA systems.

As deputies were in the process of dispersing attendees, upwards of 20 gunshots echoed through the area — sending the crowd scattering in panic.

Victims of the Shooting

Four victims — three men and one woman, all in their 20s — were rushed to local hospitals. Two sustained immediate injuries, one click here was classified with moderate injuries, and one with minor injuries. Each of the four victims was in stable condition. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department was on scene and assisted on scene.

What Was Found at the Scene

The crime scene was located on the Cottage Way side of the park near the Home Depot Howe Community Park shooting 2026 store at the 2200 block of Howe Avenue in Sacramento. The Home Depot was locked down for a period of time. More shell casings were located on Cottage Way, with projectile damage found in the wrought iron fencing bordering the Home Depot — showing gunfire directed south from along Cottage Way toward the store. CSI units and detectives processed the scene into the night.

The Suspect Vehicle

Over law enforcement radio traffic, it was confirmed that a vehicle connected to the shooting more info — a Kia automobile — was stopped in Solano County with four suspects detained. Sheriff's deputies were en route to collect the suspects and transport them back to Sacramento County. Video evidence confirmed that two individuals fired weapons.
